Adam names the pine trees and the pomegranate. He identifies the constellations. He distinguishes between dog and horse. And he comes to a realisation that he is different from any other creature he discovers. Adam is alone in this world; in solitude. A being made to mirror his Father, Adam is the perfect physical and spiritual representation. And yet, something is amiss; something is not in order.
“It is not right for Adam to be alone…”
I hear his heart beat so close. I am the protection of his heart. Taken and fashioned into a being, I come alive with a puff of breath blown in. I am the finishing touch of creation. But I am also mother. Creation ends and begins with me. Our eyes meet without shame and we know each other intimately. For we are of one flesh, and our purpose is to unite to bear fruit. To Adam, I am helper and sustainer. I walk beside him as I allow myself to be led. I am also beautiful; a darling to be loved so much, he is willing to sacrifice his life for me. I awaken the passionate love of Adam. I am captivating. I am Eve.
